A Vacation at Shungetser Lake

This journey happens to be a descriptive account of the immeasurable beauty of a famous lake located in Arunachal Pradesh in India. Hope the readers would have a pleasant time reading this article.

The Shungetsar Lake:-

Shungetser Lake located in Arunachal Pradesh in India. Tough it is to deny its beauty as tough it is to pronounce its name.

The story behind its name:-

The word Shungetser is derived from Jang Naga Tseiu.Jang Naga means Valley and tseiu implies grazing ground in local language of Arunachal Pradesh. It is believed that the lake was created in 1971 by an earthquake and/or flash flood.So, amazing is the beauty of this picturesque lake that a song of bollywood film "Koyla" was shot here with the famous bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit.This took place on October 24,1996.Since then this place is place is known as the Madhuri Lake and has evolved as one of the major attractions of Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

This story was narrated on a board nearby the lake. There is also a good support from the Indian army who are always ready to extend their helping hand to those who are suffering from high altitude sickness. The Tawang government also has take care for all the tourists by preparing a cabin where the tourists can rest and take the pleasure of taking hot coffee or some light snacks while taking a dip in the inexplicable beauty of India Tour Itineraries.

It can also be heard that before the earthquake or the flash flood there were innumerable trees (exact figure is not known) which had grown on the bed. But the quake or the flash flood resulted in either the sinking of the vegetation of the river or resulted in the draining of the trees to the mouth.But the existence of some trees (exact figure is not known) can be traced.But it is quite a disgrace that the trees remain bare all throughout the year.

To enhance the beauty of the lake a small bridge has been constructed and a small chamber has been built to allow the tourists to have a better view of the lake.

The force of the running water is quite high and can be quite dangerous to kids who tend to play everywhere including the river banks. So, my earnest request to them is please do not play on the bank of this lake as they are prone to falling in the lake. The lake's beauty can be enjoyed from a better angle that is from the other side of the lake where rivers lash against the closing rocks of the mountains that surround it.The picture on the right hand side brings before the travellers a view of the snow-clad mountains which is a feast to the eyes for the nature-lover travellers.

If one takes a minute view at the lake he will catch sight of a row of small flags the motive of which is unknown.The way to the Shungetser Lake is like the edge of the slab of a barbeque grill and you are the chicken. If you slip then God himself if come down to the earth he would not have been able to make a rescue as deep down beneath the gorge there will be the shungetser lake beneath will be there like a crocodile to gobble you up and make a thousand piece of you. This story will never end and will go on like the tail of an anaconda. But I would surely love to make a comment that it is one of the most beautiful lake I have ever visited.
